"Mount Ushba, an iconic peak in the Svaneti region of Georgia, rises to 4710 meters in the Caucasus Mountains. First climbed by English mountaineers in 1888, it saw its first ascent from the south side in 1903. With over 50 climbing routes, including the classic 4B route to the north summit, it experiences varying weather conditions, with summer temperatures ranging between -10°C and -15°C. The optimal period to ascend its steep slopes is from mid-July to late August."

Preparation required
To climb this demanding mountain:
- Prepare yourself for a very challenging climb, with high risks and physical exertion.
- Be prepared to camp in challenging terrain conditions.
- Plan to prepare your meals during the climb.
- Expect to carry a backpack weighing between 20 and 25 kg.
- Bear in mind that temperatures can drop to -20°C at altitudes of over 3,000 metres.
