Our Project

Who are we?

Gio Nadareishvili, a mountain guide living in Georgia, and Louis Zarandia, a student living in Switzerland, have been friends since they met at a climbing gym in Tbilisi in the fall of 2019. Over the months, they have gotten to know each other and work together.

Giorgi Nadareishvili

I am a professional trekking guide, graduated from the Adventure Tourism School in Tbilisi. I also have extensive experience in mountaineering and climbing.

I live in Rustavi, near the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. At 15, I discovered hiking and the Georgian wilderness, which sparked a passion in me that has since become my career.

As a trekking, mountaineering, and climbing guide, I have thrived and found deep meaning in this vocation. It has also given me the opportunity to promote my country, Georgia, a small nation with a rich heritage, extraordinary nature, and legendary hospitality.

Louis Sandro Zarandia

I grew up in Switzerland, in a small village at the foot of the Jura Mountains, and hold a degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva.

Passionate about mountain sports such as climbing, trekking, and ski touring, my dual identity—Georgian through my father and Swiss through my mother—has given me extensive knowledge of Georgia through numerous trips during my childhood.

I've always dreamed of creating a project that brings together my two origins. Promoting the heritage and lesser-known beauty of Georgia has always been a priority for me. This desire became a reality in July 2019, when I introduced Georgia to some friends, and later, by studying Georgian for four months in Tbilisi the same year.

Thus, I founded Georgian Summit Expedition with my friend Gio Nadareishvili, a mountain guide in Georgia.

What is the idea behind this project?

We promote iconic Georgian mountains such as Mount Ushba and Mount Kazbek, as well as still wild regions like Tusheti and Svaneti. Our offerings mainly include tours guided by experienced mountain guides, with accommodations in family-run B&Bs to support local tourism operators in Georgia.

Our goal is to inspire our Swiss and international clients, to introduce them to the incredible warmth and hospitality of Georgia, and to make them want to return.

Environnement

We have an ethical goal of eco-responsibility and aim to offer environmentally friendly green tourism. To achieve this, we have decided to levy a carbon tax on airfare prices, in accordance with our environmental policy.

All dividends collected from this tax will be reinvested in various sustainability projects in Georgia. Additionally, we plan to train our guides and future generations in ecology and the importance of respecting nature and its landscapes.

Nous espérons que ce projet vous inspire autant qu'il nous inspire, et nous serions ravis de vous accueillir prochainement lors d'un de nos tours.
